STEWART, Dr. James Martin, a Representative from Indiana and Jefferson Counties; born, January 11, 1792 in Huntingdon County, Pa.; M.D., University of Pennsylvania, 1813; quartermaster sergeant, surgeon, Company D, 13th Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry (Civil War); physician; elected as an Anti-Mason to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1832-1833 term; appointed, associate judge, Indiana County (1849); died, March 26, 1869 in Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum, Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
