PARKHURST, Dr. Curtis, a Representative from Bradford, Lycoming, McKean, Potter and Tioga Counties; born, July 2, 1794 in Marlborough, Cheshire County, NH; M.D., Dartmouth Medical College (1819); physician; druggist; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1828-1829 and 1829-1830 terms; justice of the peace, Tioga Township (1838); elected, sheriff, Tioga County (1840-1843); appointed, associate judge, Tioga County (1847-1852); trustee, Lawrenceville Academy (1852-1853); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Lawrenceville (1860); died, June 5, 1872 in Lawrenceville, Tioga County, Pennsylvania; interred, Lawrenceville Power Cemetery, Lawrenceville, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.
