GILMORE, Samuel Anderson, a Representative from Butler County; born, January 21, 1806 in North Washington, Butler County, Pa.; attended, Jefferson College (now Washington and Jefferson College); lawyer (1828-1848, 1861-1866); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1836-1837 and 1837-1838 terms; elected, delegate and secretary, Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention (1837-1838); president judge, Washington, Fayette, and Greene district (appointed, 1848-1850; elected, 1851-1861, 1866-1873); died, May 16, 1873 in Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oak Grove Cemetery, South Union Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
