HAYES, Thomas, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, November 6, 1809 in Lewisburg, Union County, Pa.; private, Company I, 61st Regiment, Pennsvlania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1864, Civil War); lawyer; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1837-1838 term; elected, secretary and treasurer, Little Schuylkill and Susquehanna Rail Road Company; merchant; died, December 1, 1886 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Lewisburg Cemetery, Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.
