MORRIS, Thomas Willing, a Representative from Philadelphia City; born, October 23, 1792 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; aide-de-camp (1822), division inspector and lieutenant colonel, 1st Regiment, First Brigade, Pennsylvania Milita (1822, 1828-1832); lawyer; engaged, real estate; elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1829-1830 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1830, 1831); manager, Union Canal Company (1832); unsuccessful campaign, common council, Philadelphia (1832); died, May 12, 1852 in Howard County, Maryland; interred, Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
