During the transcribing process, the Archives staff focused on several facets:
To the best of its ability, the staff tried to copy verbatim the words of the interviewee and the interviewer.
Minor editorial changes were made to the transcripts in order to make the interviews more accessible to readers. Examples:
Each interviewee was allowed to review the transcript prior to it being published. However, the interviewees were asked to not make any changes that would alter the meaning of the expressed answers.
Interviewees were allowed to submit additional comments regarding any of the answers given. These comments were identified as given at a later date.
