HAMILTON, Robert Kennedy, a Representative from Beaver County; born in Roswell, Chaves County, NM, September 3, 1905; graduated, Peabody High School; B.S., The Pennsylvania State University; LL.B, J.D., Duquesne University; second lieutenant, ROTC Infantry (1928-1930); second lieutenant, Battery B, 107th field artillery, United States Army (1930-1934); second lieutenant, Horse Officer and  Reconnaissance Officer, Operational Response Command, Pennsylvania National Guard Reserves; farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1940, 1942 and 1944; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1946); reelected to the House in 1948 and served 12 consecutive terms thereafter; elected, Speaker (1965-1966); appointed, Local Government Commission (1955-1964; vice-chair, 1961-1964); appointed, Pennsylvania Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1961-1962, 1967-1974); appointed, Joint State Government Commission (1965-1966); appointed, Legislative Budget and Finance Committee (1965-1966); appointed, General State Authority (1965-1966); appointed, State Highway and Bridge Authority (1965-1966); appointed, State Public School Building Authority (1965-1966); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1972); died, November 10, 1986 in Ambridge, Beaver County, Pennsylvania; interred, Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Daugherty Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
