BENSON, Isaac, a Representative from Clinton, Lycoming, Potter and Tioga Counties; born June 8, 1817 in Waterford, Erie County, Pa.; attended, Waterford Academy; lawyer; elected, burgess, Coudersport (1848); engaged, real estate; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1857 and 1858 terms; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1859-1862); elected, delegate, National Union Party Convention (1864); co-owner, The Potter Enterprise, Coudersport (1874-1880); director, Jersey Shore, Pine Creek and Buffalo Railroad (1882-1894); died, March 11, 1894 in Coudersport, Potter County, Pennsylvania; interred, Eulalia Cemetery, Coudersport, Potter County, Pennsylvania.
