EVANS, William, a Representative from Chester County; born, January 31, 1831 in Willistown Township, Chester County, Pa.; attended, Gause’s Academy, Chester County; farmer; school board secretary (12 years) and auditor (6 years), Willistown Township; director and incorporator, Malvern National Bank; president, Farmer’s Market Company of Philadelphia; president and organizer, Newtown Square Railroad; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1886; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1888); died, April 19, 1905 in Malvern, Chester County, Pennsylvania; interred, Willistown Friends Cemetery, Willistown Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
