SWEITZER, Ernice Marion, a Representative from Clarion County; born, May 19, 1879 in Porter Township, Clarion County, Pa.; graduated, West Millville Academy; graduated, Clarion State Normal School (now Pennsylvania Western University, Clarion), 1902; teacher; principal, Clarion schools (2 years) and Wick City schools (4 years); elected, council, Shippenville Borough; director, Minnesee Coal and Timber Company; director, National Board of Farm Organizations; general manager, Farmer’s General Store; national president, National Farmers’ Equity Exchange; secretary and district organizer, Western Pennsylvania Clearing House (1914); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1916; reelected to the House to serve the 1917, 1919 and 1921 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1922); head, WPA office, Erie; inheritance tax appraiser, Clarion County; chair, Clarion County Democratic Committee (1944-1962); died, December 9, 1966 in Franklin, Clarion County, Pennsylvania; interred, Salem Cemetery, Frogtown, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.
