BELL, Eli Greenwood “Green,” a Representative from Clearfield County; born, March 12, 1860 in Bell Township, Clearfield County, Pa.; attended, Lumber City Normal School; teacher; mercantile businessman (1883-1898); farmer; bookkeeper; delegate, Democratic State Convention (1887); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Bells Landing (9 years); appointed, auditor, Clearfield County (1901); unsuccessful campaign for election to the House (1902); elected, auditor, Clearfield County (1911-1914); clerk to jury commissioners, Clearfield County; elected, justice of the peace, Clearfield County; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1916; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1918, 1920); died, October 8, 1934 in Greenville, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania; interred, Watts Cemetery, Curwensville, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.
