IMBT, Herbert R., a Representative from Monroe County; born in Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pa., March 15, 1916; graduated, Lehigh University, 1938; colonel, United States Army (1941-1946, World War II; Silver Star, Bronze Star, Air Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon, seven Battle Stars, Presidential Citation with Oakleaf Cluster, American Defense Medal, American Theatre Medal recipient); civil engineer (1938-1940); contractor, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation; owner, construction business; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1947 term; appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on State-Local Highway Financing (1947-1948); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1949 term; founder, Herbert R. Imbt Company (1947-1984); died, November 12, 1989 in State College, Centre County, Pennsylvania; interred, Pine Hall Cemetery, State College, Centre County, Pennsylvania.
