BENTZEL, Felix Sunset, a Representative from York County; born in Manchester Township, York County, Pa., October 1, 1882; attended York County Academy; attended, York School of Business and Banking; wholesale poultry and egg business (40 years); elected, common council (1908-1909), select council (1910-1911), city council (1912-1913), York; superintendent of Public Safety, York; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1941 term and served 3 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Commission to Study the School System (1945-1946); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Education (1947-1948); appointed, Local Government Commission (1947-1948); elected, delegate, Democratic National Convention (1948, 1952); resigned from the House, January 5, 1948; elected, mayor, York (1948-1952); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1954); died, November 1, 1958 in York, York County, Pennsylvania; interred, Prospect Hill Cemetery, York, York County, Pennsylvania.
