BARRETT, Thomas E., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, September 17, 1904 in Homestead, Allegheny County, Pa.; attended, Homestead High School; attended, Duquesne University Evening School; secretary; chief clerk, office of the clerk of courts, Allegheny County; elected, council president, Homestead Borough; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in a Special Election on May 19, 1942; Sworn-In, August 4, 1942 to serve the remaining 1941 term; reelected to 3 more consecutive terms; appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Industrial Development and Expansion (1947-1948); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1948); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1949-1952); unsuccessful campaign, State Senate (1952); elected, clerk of courts, Allegheny County (1953-1969); died, November 17, 1969 in Monroeville, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
